Purlin and secondary beam elements in groups are converted into single elements with the Explode into Single Elements command.
Location of Explode into Single Elements Command
You can access the explode into single elements command from the steel beam and steel purlin toolbars.
Usage Steps

Click the Explode into Single Elements icon from the steel beam or steel purlin toolbar.

Click the left mouse button on the steel beam or steel purlin in the group.

Your grouped steel beams or purlins will turn into single elements.
