Creating a Space Purlin

Space purlins of steel design are created with the Space Purlin command. Space purlins are elements drawn between steel beams and constructed from a mesh of steel bar elements.

Location of Space Purlin Command

You can access it under the ribbon menu Steel tab, Steel heading.

Usage Steps

  • Click the Space Purlin icon from the ribbon menu .

  • Steel purlin toolbar will open.

  • Select a profile from the list by clicking on the profile list in the steel purlin toolbar.

  • Choose the first of the steel beams or truss overhead heads that the space purlins will form between.

  • When you select your second steel beam or truss head, the space purlin settings dialog will open.

  • The dialog includes parameters such as space purlin width, module height, number of purlins, layout etc. After making the settings, click the OK button.

  • Space purlins will be formed.
