R = R should be taken.

The Complete Message:

Load bearing system behavior coefficient must be R=R for X/Y direction. Deselect (4/5)R for X/Y direction option in Analysis Settings dialog and re-analyse project.

In the article 4.3.2.4 of TBDY 2018 , two conditions defined in (a) and (b) below are specified in any direction in buildings with reinforced concrete curtain and / or steel braced frame with DTS = 1, 1a, 2, 2a .

(a)   a single pitch bearing system or steel receives base stall torque of the bracing frame M DEV , then the total floor tilting moment occurring in seismic loads for the entire building in the direction M o ' s third is no greater than.

(b)  Construction each side axles located screen / screen or steel braced frame / receives base overturning moment of the frames M DEV or M DEV 'the sum of all, that the direction in total floor tilting moment occurring in seismic loads for the entire building M o ' s 1 It will not be less than / 6.

One of these conditions are not satisfied, it is in line with the Structural Behavior Factor R instead of (4/5) R will be considered. If provided, R = (4/5) R is not required.

This message is given if the "Apply (4/5) R" option on the Analysis Settings / TBDY Options Tab is selected while the conditions (a) and (b) above are met.

Solution :

  • In the Analysis Settings / TBDY Options Tab, cancel the "(4/5) R apply" option in the requested direction and repeat the analysis.
