Steel Connection strength not satisfied.

This message is created by giving the steel connection name at the beginning of the report.

For example,

Connection 1 Connection strength not satisfied.

Steel connection design using CYTHYE 2016 (GKT & YDKT), AISC 360-16 (ASD & LRFD) or EN 1993-1-1 codes; Strength checks, bolt checks, welding checks, and plate checks are carried out in accordance with the connection type and regulations.

  • Tensile strength check bolts

  • Shear strength check bolts

  • Bolt hole crush check

  • Bolt diameter check

  • Block shear check

  • Plate tensile strength check

  • Plate yield check

There are deficiencies in strength checks for the relevant section in the connection design report. Necessary precautions can be taken for plates and bolts with these deficiencies.

Possible Solutions:

  • The bolt diameter can be reduced.

  • The number of bolts can be increased.

  • The plate thickness can be increased.

  • The weld thickness can be increased.

  • The connection type can be changed.

  • The cross-sections of the column and beam elements where the connection is defined can be changed to create the connection geometry.
