Creating a Steel Tie
With the Steel Tie command, steel ties belonging to the steel design are created. Steel ties are steel elements drawn between columns.
Location of Steel Tie Command
You can access it under the ribbon menu, Steel tab, Steel heading.
Usage Steps
Click on the Steel Tie icon from the ribbon menu .
The steel Tie toolbar will open.
Click the profile list in the steel Tie toolbar and select a profile from the list.
Choose the first of the steel beams that will form between the steel Ties.
Once you have selected your second steel beam, the steel Tie settings dialog will open.
The dialogue includes parameters such as the number of Ties, layout, joint features, etc. Click the OK button after making the settings.
Ties will be formed.
