What is Building Information Modeling (BIM)?

A completely integrated architecture, reinforced concrete, and steel, ideCAD shortens the project planning time with its system that allows sharing the same building information model, and the opportunity to create, review and edit the project together. While the changes made by different disciplines are revised within the same building information model, efficiency increases.

By working together with architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and other disciplines, preparing the 3D model of the building to include the characteristics of the materials and materials to be used at the design stage and reducing the time and material losses that will occur during construction and, in a more advanced level, It is the name of the process that enables analysis such as energy efficiency before starting. In this process, ideCAD provides full automation in architectural and static projecting. The ideCAD MEP, which will be used in mechanical and electrical project design, is still in the planning phase.

What is BIM?

BIM Building Information Modeling initials of the words is a concept formed by juxtaposition. So what is Building Information Modeling (BIM)?

It is the name of the system that collects all the information about a structure in a common model and transforms it into a model. It is a process that starts when the building does not exist, only when there is land, and continues as long as the construction is completed and used. There are also many areas of expertise that provide services in this process. And also in this process, there is software (computer programs) that these areas benefit from.

Thanks to software that enables this process to be managed, such as ideCAD, everyone from employers to engineers, from contractors to architects, who work in a project at different stages and layers, can easily access up-to-date information and details about the project process.

The most important stages of this process in terms of architectural Bim Modeling, structural Bim Modeling, concrete calculations, application drawings, and visualization can be listed.

In addition, BIM is an information management system, not an architectural software or architectural program.

According to the previously defined “Building Information Modeling ”, all of these stages should use the Building Information Model, adding the outputs of their own stage and sharing them with the programs used in other processes.

This sharing can be done without any loss of information, but only if all information is gathered in a single center. With this ideYAPI (IDS) Integrated Design System, it is possible to complete the Architectural, Structural, Concrete Visualization and Drawing stages. For processes that cannot be done with ideYAPI programs at this stage, sharing can also be done with the internationally accepted IFC Model.

What is the BIM process?

It is possible to talk about two main streams for BIM processes in the world. One is information sharing through IFC, which we call “Open BIM”, and the other is Native (that is, using the natural Same Building Information Model Directly) ideYAPI Information model Native, that is, natural lossless information sharing

What is BIM Software used for?

BIM Software is used to create architectural designs, structural analysis, and structural designs and to detail application projects. The structure is modeled down to the last detail in BIM. Using the design options, the model can be used to create visualizations that help stakeholders understand what the structure will look like before implementation. This model is then also used to create the details for the construction phase.
