Special Analysis Rules for TBDY 2018 Requirement for Flat Slab Systems

  • In accordance with TBDY 2018 4.3.4.4, all earthquake effects in structural systems with flat slabs should be covered by special shearwalls and shearwalls with coupling beams. The model of the building is created in accordance with this condition.

  • In accordance with the same article, two-stage calculations must be done in flat slabs structural systems.

  • In the first stage calculation, reinforced columns are hinged from bottom and top.

  • In the second stage calculation, reinforced columns are modeled monolithic.

  • Shearwalls, columns, braces and slabs are designed in accordance with the unfavorable internal force results obtained from these two stages.

  • The relative storey drift is calculated in accordance with the second stage calculation results.

  • Analysis results for both loading conditions can be examined on the program interface and detailed reports can be obtained.

  • The building requires 2 different 2-stage calculations because it includes both flat slab and basement. The results of these calculationsSpecial Analysis Rules in Basement Structures as per TBDY 2018 is detailed in theSpecial Analysis Rules in Basement Structures as per TBDY 2018 section forSpecial Analysis Rules in Basement Structures as per TBDY 2018.
