Dimensional Limit Conditions for Beams

  • All cross-section conditions are controlled automatically.

  • It is automatically checked whether the beam body width is less than 250 mm, that the beam body width will not exceed the sum of the beam height and the vertical width of the column or curtain to the beam, and if not provided, the user is warned.

  • The condition of whether the beam height is less than 3 times the slab thickness, 300 mm and 3.5 times the beam body width is automatically controlled and the user is warned if it is not provided.

  • The beams can be resolved together with the flooring elements at the user's initiative.

  • When the beam height is more than 1/4 of its free span, longitudinal web reinforcement is placed on both sides of the beam body along the beam height.

  • It is automatically controlled that the total longitudinal web reinforcement area will not be less than 30% of the largest of the total upper and lower longitudinal reinforcement areas in right or left support sections.

  • Horizontal body crossties are applied automatically at intervals not exceeding 600 mm along the beam height and 400 mm along the beam axis.

  • Conditions for clamping longitudinal reinforcement are applied automatically.

  • N d eleman 0.10 A c f ck of the design axial pressure force is automatically controlled in the carrier system elements to be dimensioned and equipped as beams .

ICONS

A c = Gross cross-section area of the column
N d = Axial force calculated under the combined effect of vertical loads and earthquake loads multiplied by load factors
f ck = Characteristic cylinder compressive strength of concrete

The following cross-section conditions must be met in beams that form a frame with columns or are connected to walls in their own planes.

  • The beam body width should be at least less than 250 mm.

  • The beam body width should not exceed the sum of the height of the beam and the perpendicular width of the column or curtain to the beam.

  • Beam height should not be less than 3 times the slab thickness and 300 mm.

  • The beam height should not be more than 3.5 times the beam body width.

  • When the beam height is more than 1/4 of the free span, a longitudinal web reinforcement should be placed on both sides of the beam body along the beam height.

  • Total longitudinal web reinforcement area should not be less than 30% of the largest of the sum of upper and lower longitudinal reinforcement areas in right or left support sections.

  • The core reinforcement diameter should not be less than 12 mm and the spacing should not exceed 300 mm.

  • Horizontal body crossties are placed at intervals not exceeding 600 mm along the beam height and 400 mm along the beam axis.

  • For structural system elements to be dimensioned and equipped as beams, the design axial pressure force must meet the condition N d ≤ 0.10 A c f ck . Otherwise, it should be sized as a column.
